Putting on the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20) is a set of attitudes we need to adopt daily to walk in an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. The Armor is derived from the actual armor worn by the Roman soldiers in the New Testament times, which would be a familiar image to the readers of Ephesians. This document looks at each piece of armor in terms of our personal relationship with Christ Jesus. Each of the half-dozen pieces of armor represents a different aspect of our relationship with Christ. With this perspective, we can meditate appropriately to address the issues we are dealing with each day.
The passage tells us we are engaged in daily spiritual warfare. It is very important Christians to have a healthy and realistic perspective on this warfare - after all, Christ has already won the victory in our behalf.
