In many places, We are a minority ministry, but in almost every community where we are, we are leaders in organizing activities and recruiting the Body of Christ to serve the needs of the community.
We have organized projects to fix up neighborhood playgrounds, feed the poor, help the homeless, help widows, form after-school programs for children, relaxing activities for parents of profoundly disabled children (while the Church cares for the children), and a host of other special services meeting the special needs of specific neighborhoods. We have called on other churches to join with us to care for orphans, even in government-run orphanages. We help to convene mentor-ship programs for children struggling in school, for people living on the streets, and for people being delivered from substance abuse issues or other addictions that may engage every congregation in a city.
When a major ministry (Billy Graham, Luis Palau, Harvest Crusades, OM Ships, Might Men's Fellowship, etc.) visits the region, we partner to help engage the community of faith to invite the region to the events. We also engage our prayer ministries to help as well. Where there are armed conflicts, famines, natural catastrophes, fires, and large needs in general, we support our partners and help organize the local churches to work together to provide relief.
While the individual events and services provided may differ, we call on the local community of faith to join with us to do whatever needs to be done to meet the needs of the regional people, to show the love of Christ to all, and to bring glory to our Lord Jesus. We often provide specialized services to help the local church to provide spiritual healing and to meet spiritual needs beyond the normal services to help deal with spiritual trauma.
