John Townsend, founder of Matthew 25: 34-40 Ministries shared that his organization is currently concerned with how COVID-19 is affecting Homeless Youth. Since many homeless youth no longer have access to meals provided by their schools, meal insecurity is a big issue. As is the requirement for school lessons to move online since they do not have computer access.
According to John, isolation from friends and school has also resulted in an increase in suicide interventions. Matthew 25: 34-40 Ministries receives an average of 7 calls per week for said interventions in the San Diego region.
